The word LIONS = LOVING INDIVIDUALS OFFERING NEEDED SERVICES. If you wish to make a difference, be our guest and join us for lunch at the Presidential Country Club.
We welcome you to become part of our organization, the Aventura North Miami Beach Lions Club. We have 38 active members ages 21 to 91 of which 44% are women.
Why don't you make a difference too!
The Aventura North Miami Beach Lions Club donates heavily to The International Foundation, which supports Lions' projects around the world.
In Florida, District and State projects include the following:
*The District's Lions Clubs donate more than $350,000 annually to Sight First to aid the blind and visually impaired.
*We support the Florida Lions Eye Bank, which is located in Miami; one of the three Lions funded and Lions operated eye banks in Florida. There, eye research is conducted, eye diseases are studied, and eye tissue is gathered and furnished for corneal transplants.
*The Florida Lions Camp for the Blind in Lake Wales handles nearly 300 blind or visually impaired children each summer. At the camp they learn to swim and dive, to jump on trampolines, and to ride horseback, instead of only dreaming of these experiences.
*The lions support The Southeastern Guide Dog program in Bradenton, which provides trained Guide Dogs to many blind persons at no cost. Housing is also provided free to the recipients while they learn to work with their Guide Dogs.
*The Conklin Center is a total lifestyle education facility for multi-handicapped persons. It is located in Daytona Beach and is operated by a professional and experienced staff.
*The following fundraisers were done so that our "Service", can make a difference:
-Coloring books and stuffed characters were sold.
-Collected used eyeglasses at 14 different places.
